温人（中村伦也 饰）曾经有一个美满幸福的家庭，但这份幸福随着母亲爽子（木村佳乃 饰）的离开而被击的粉碎。成年后的温人早已经同情同手足的哥哥哲人（新井浩文 饰）失散多年，成为了星丘车站失物招领处的工作人员。他十分珍视那些被拾得的遗失物品，希望它们终有一天能够回到主人的手上，然而，大多数物品的下场，唯有被当做垃圾被处理掉。 某日，中尾（岛田久作 饰）和大林（杏 饰）两名刑警找到了温人，告知了他爽死的死讯，为了解开母亲生前遗留的谜团，温人决定靠自己的力量调查真相，就此结识了和自己有着血缘关系的姐姐七海（佐佐木希 饰）和弟弟雄哉（菅田将晖 饰）。经过调查，温人发现，母亲被卷入了一宗价值三百万日元的疑案之中。
In a world of disposable goods and persons lost and found department employee of Hoshigaoka Station Haruto was himself once abandoned by his mother. While he does his job adequately he also daydreams about the items he is overseeing, their history and background, how the item was lost and how it ended up with him. He finds out that his mother has killed herself.
