菲腊花了两个月的薪金买下八米厘摄影机，本想纪录刚出生女儿的成长，但厂长却要求他为单位服务，拍摄联欢晚会；误打误撞下，居然给他在电影节里捞了个奖。他登时雄心万丈立志成为纪录片大师，冷落娇妻也在所不计。但镜头下的真实却不是人人吃得消。当人民英雄的代价是好同事成了活靶，最後菲腊要在成名与道义之间作取舍。Filip buys an eight-millimetre movie camera when his first child is born. Because it's the first camera in town, he's named official photographer by the local Party boss. His horizons widen when he is sent to regional film festivals with his first works but his focus on movie-making also leads to domestic strife and philosophical dilemmas.
